Hi! My name’s Abhay Syamala. I’m a Penn State student majoring in Accounting at the Smeal School of Business, and I tutor math full-time. I graduated from North Allegheny, where I first discovered my passion for helping students succeed.

Back in high school, I noticed a few classmates who struggled in math. They were often too shy to ask questions and too stubborn to admit when they were confused. I always felt bad because I knew that with the right support, they could have done so much better.

That’s why I started tutoring. I believe that learning is about more than just solving problems, it’s about building a connection between teacher and student. When students feel comfortable, they don’t feel embarrassed when they’re stuck or guilty when they make mistakes.

 

Instead, they learn to enjoy the process.

And once a student enjoys learning, real progress begins.
